How to participate?

The new programme framework H2020 has decreased the necessary bureaucracy in to participate, thus making the process of participation easier. See the following video for easy first steps to perform.

Contact with the OGPI if you are interested in participating, since we will provide you with information and assistance in each of the stages of preparation of the proposal and participation in projects:

PROPOSAL PREPARATION

The main steps for the preparation of the proposal are summarized in the following diagram:

IMPORTANT STEPS TO BE FOLLOWED IN SUBMITTING A PROPOSAL

To participate in Horizon 2020 may choose to present an own idea (being or not, the Coordinator of the project) or by the union to a consortium. In any case, the steps to be carried out for the presentation of a proposal are as follows.

1. Once you have the idea, check that it fits within the program framework and identify the line of action of the proposal within Horizon 2020. It is important to consult the required documentation, and periods of presentation of each call in the participant Portal.

  • Have prior to the publication of the call for support and information.
  • Search for projects financed in the subject of your interest,
  • Get drafts (Drafts) of proposals for the topic of your interest,
  • Learn about training courses in writing proposals and other related events,

  • Act as first contact with external agents: NCP's (national contact points), SOST, regional offices...

2. proposal preparation, following the guidelines indicated in the call.

This includes:

  • Preparation of the necessary information for the elaboration of the proposal (in English).
  • Search for partners (Partner search), where necessary.
  • Budgeting and determination of responsibilities in the Consortium.
  • Definition of the workplan (tasks, roles...)
  • Review of the proposal (specific criteria of evaluation in each call).

Contact with the OGPI at this stage for:

  • To identify the Topics that most conform to its line of research and its corresponding funding scheme.
  • Provide advice on documentation and forms to submit.
  • Support for the preparation of budgets.
  • Advice on the elaboration of the content of proposals. Tips for writing a successful proposal.
  • It helps in the search for partners. Council on strategic partners and their roles.
  • Search for funding for the proposed phase.
  • Review of the proposal (legal, financial aspects, IPR, MoU - Memorandum of Understanding -, NDA - Non DisclosureAgreement-..).
  • Find out about training courses in writing proposals and other related events.
  • Search for projects financed in the topic of your interest.

 

3. shipping to the European Commission. This is done through the Portal of the participant. It is important to check the date and time of closure of the call.

 

4. assessment of the proposal: the proposals are evaluated by experts will evaluate where the excellence, impact the quality and efficiency of the implementation of the project.

The maximum time between the closing date of the calls and the communication of results (approved or rejected proposal) the Commission is 5 months.

  • Get information about the State of evaluation of a proposal.
  • Provide the contact details for the national contact point (NCP).

 

5. preparation of the Grant Agreement once passed the proposal to prepare the contract with the European Commission. The maximum time between the communication of approval and the signing of the agreement of the Commission grant is 3 months.

  • Management of firms.
  • Financial, legal and administrative support during the negotiation phase.
  • Advice on the preparation and review of agreements Consortium and contract with the Commission.
  • Provide the contact details for the national contact point (NCP).
