Be an expert evaluator is characterized by:

  • It is a personal work, does not act on behalf of any organization or country.
  • Requires a timely dedication (7-10 days) and it is well paid.
  • Generally used two types of evaluation: face-to-face and remote.
  • There is a small percentage of evaluators from the company.
  • Gender assessments balance (40% women in panels), while there are only 15% of women in the databases.
  • More than 5,000 experts are used per year, with a "reasonable distribution of geographic areas" in Horizon 2020

2. ¿How be an “External Expert”?

2.1 Experts evaluadores H2020

The European Commission has published an announcement of expert evaluadores independent for Horizon 2020 and EURATOM.

They look for expert to llevar distinct tasks, between other evaluate the proposals that present to the announcements of Horizon 2020, for the follow-up projects, monitor the implementation of the politics of investigation and innovation of the Union or evaluate the advance of the European Space of Investigation.

The Commission is interested so much in people of the academic world, as also of the business world and of different areas of knowledge.

All those interested can obtain more information on the new Spanish Horizon 2020 Portal and register through the following link to.

Those experts who are already registered in the database of the European Commission for FP7 should indicate your interest in the New Horizon 2020 program and update your profile.

The possibility to inscribe in the database of the Commission will be opened during all Horizon 2020 (2014-2020).

3. specific calls to sign up as a reviewer/expert.

3.1 call for expressions of interest: recruitment of experts for the program COSME.

Agency Executive of the small and medium enterprises (EASME) wants to establish a roster of independent experts participate in:

  • The evaluation of proposals in response to calls for proposals aimed at the implementation of the programme of COSME.
  • The evaluation of ongoing activities, or projects in COSME.
  • Monitoring of the implementation of the actions carried out within the framework of COSME.

Researchers are invited to make the request for independent experts through the "Participant Portal" after selecting the programme COSME.

As an expert COST, you will have the opportunity to:

• Contribute to the assessment of proposals cost.
• Participate in the evaluation of the results of the action and results.
